A revival project in Bunganditj (Boandik) is currently being explored.

A preliminary two day workshop was held in Mount Gambier to discuss the future prospects of the language on November 3 - 4th November 2011. The workshop is summarised in the Recent News menu on the MLT website. It was attended by up to 30 people who came together from as far afield as Sydney, Naracoorte and Murray Bridge. The two linguists Prof Barry Blake and Dr Julie Reid, who produced a book from archival sources on the Bunganditj language, travelled from Melbourne to help run the workshop. The hosts were Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation of Mount Gambier and the Mobile Language Team of the University of Adelaide.

A major resource for the Bunganditj language is the quality 2003 publication by Professor Barry Blake: Bunganditj (Buwandik) language of the Mount Gambier Region. It combines all the archival written sources of Bunganditj into one book, and includes a wordlist and Finder List from English, plus comments on the grammar. The main written sources were Rh Mathews and Christina Smith' son's wordlist and grammar.
